I have decided to quit blogging here at vanityandshit.com.

I’m sorry I’ve disappointed so many of you over the past two months or so with my lack of blogging. My life has been filled with loss and sorrow, but also wonderful additions and happiness. Now that life has stabilized itself again, I want to spend my time on other projects.

It has been a pleasure to have this blog as an outlet for vanity and shit. And it has absolutely thrilled me that so many of you have found something you like about this blog – whether you just dropped in once in a while, or was one of the several thousands that were avid daily readers!!!

ACNE RESORT SS 2013 CAMPAIGN

Acne’s resort collection for SS 2013 win’s my prize for the cutest campaign! I first noticed this quite quiet campaign on Instagram. It is the artist William Wegman who has taken the pictures of his own Weimaraners. There is a series of pictures, but my favourites so far are these shown below:

This clutch is perfect for all-white outfits, and all other outfits.

Chunky shoes and chunky soles are big hit also this spring and summer.

Borsalino hats. I want them both. And both the hats.

 

 

COS STORE OPENING IN OSLO THIS WEEK

It’s finally here; the opening of the first COS store in Oslo! Last time I wrote about COS coming to Oslo, the date for the opening was not known. I’ve now heard it is set for the 1st of March (this coming Friday), and from what I saw while peering through the window today on my way home from work, it’s looking good.

Some of you might not know this Swedish brand, so here’s a few pictures to show you why I’m so excited. Impeccable, Scandinavian minimalism:

 

 

 

WELCOME WEEKDAY WEB-SHOP

To the delight of Weekday lovers, the Swedish high-street store opened its web-shop for business yesterday. Not as delightful for you kittens in Norway; for some unknown reason they won’t be shipping to Norway. Disappointing and weird. But all you international kittens can enjoy Weekday’s edgy and affordable designs just one click away. Hooray!

 

 

LA FEMME FORD

I would LOVE to afford to be a la Femme Ford! And a little piece of such a heaven became mine a few months ago when I bought new specs. Pale gold and cream, in a current take on a 1970 shaped frame, in the way only Tom Ford can. Reading never looked so good!

 

 

ELLE UK FEBRUARY 2013

I’m as surprised every time I find myself buying a magazine with Scarlett Johansson on the cover. I’m not a big fan, which I’m sure is a “it’s-me-not-her” thing. But undeniably, the kitten looks good. Like on the cover of Elle UK february 2013. Wearing the showstopper from Victoria Beckham’s SS 2013 collection, how could one not look amazing?! Weird pose aside, I’m LOVING this look! Crossing my fingers for something similar in a high street store this spring…

VICTORIA BECKHAM SS 2013

I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want; I wan’t the Victoria Beckham collection for SS 2013. That woman is the best example of why one sometimes should quit ones day job – from sh*t singer to remarkable designer.

 

 

I love EVERYTHING in this collection apart from the minis and a cropped red blazer. All the blouses, blazers, dresses, trousers, belts, bras, hats, shoes and the bags, bags, bags (did’nt she first gain recognition as a designer for her bags?) I adore, adore, adore. It would all be so perfect for my summer which is going to be filled with working at the office, holding lectures, attending conferences and formal dinners. So chic, yet so sexy.

 

 

COS SS 2013

Oslo fashionistas have a particularly good reason for looking forward to this spring; Swedish COS (Collection of Style) is finally opening a store here. COS market themselves as high end design in good quality at affordable prices, and describe their designs as timeless, modern, tactile and functional. Everything a Norwegian fashion kitten could want, in other words.

I’m particularly excited, as the store is opening just around the corner from where I live (Hegdehaugsveien 29)! This is going to get expensive…

COS have just released a video of their favourite pieces from their SS 2013 collection. Enjoy some Scandinavian sombre minimalism, kittens!

I finally caved in to the pressure. I’m now on instagram. Now that everyone more or less is over it, I’m on it. Like when I got a hotmail account as my first e-mail account in 2000, and when I started my blog in 2011. But better late than never, yes?

PLEATED (FAUX) LEATHER

In my last post I wrote how I’m already inspired by Céline‘s pre-fall line for 2013. You can imagine I was thrilled to find this skirt at the sales at Zara!

Maybe it’s a copy of the pleated leather skirt from the Maison Martin Margiela SS 2012 collection, that I’ve blogged about previously , but it will do me nicely styled in the Céline pre-fall 2013 way too!
