With their latest designer collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela, the Swedish highstreet store H&M is going avant grade. H&M have steadily upped the daring factor in their designer collaborations over the years, and as the hype surrounding these collaborations has reached its highest, screeching pitch yet, I wonder if H&M have pushed things just a little too far this time for their regular customers. More commercial designer collaboration collections, like the one by Marni, have after all been left hanging in stores here in Oslo, way past any trend expire date. And the Anna dello Russo line was on sale at half price in stores and online before anyone had the chance to sober up from their overspending on kitsch bling. Self proclaimed fashionistas will however undoubtedly feel an obligation to love this MMM for H&M collection and secure more than one stand out piece. Who will be the true avant gardist, though? The fashionista who skips this collection, or the one who gets in line the 15th of November?

Asos is a wonderful place to procrastinate. The site has just endless amounts of items and inspiration. This video with Charlotte Free is a goldmine for creating your best night ever outfits this season, if you love faux furs and sequins. I do! And if you don’t, miss Free will make you.

It’s not long now until the 15th of November and the MMM for H&M collection will be available online and in selected H&M stores. It’s been one of the bigger questions on the minds of many a fashionista this season; how will a collaboration between the commercial high street brand H&M and the avant garde design house Maison Martin Margiela look? And finally we get a sneak peek!

I’ve posted a video of MMM’s AW 2012 collection previously, and I’m sad to say that I don’t find the same chic, sleek and sophisticated style in the upcoming H&M collection. But if you want to go for the oversized look this winter, I would absolutely recommend you get your coat or jacket from this collection on the 15th of November!

It’s my birthday, and my fourth day of celebratory bubbly! Today I also got the best work news I’ve had for two years. I’ve been swamped in work ever since I got back from my vacation, and now it will get worse. But in a good way. In a very good way. In the way I’ve been hoping for for the past two years!

I’m quite sure I’ll be able to stay vain throughout it all, so please don’t fear that my blog is disappearing! I’ll still need an outlet for my vanity and shit – just like you, kittens.

I have a thing for KISS. I always have. Since I was about 4 years old. What’s not to LOVE? Flamboyance, make up, wardrobe and good tunes. LOVE. One of my happiest, euphoric moments this year was seeing KISS live this summer in Oslo. A second really amazing moments was in Barcelona on the hottest day during our stay; we had found refuge in an air conditioned record store with a KISS mural (!), while thumbing through Serge Gainsbourg vintage vinyl records (pre 1974) I look up and see my beau holding his arms stretched out towards me, holding the album LOVE GUN in his hands. Precious is mine…
